ABSTRACT:
Both gasoline and diesel internal combustion engines continue to go through major updates due to ever increasing emission requirements and demand for more efficiency. Engine oil plays a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, longevity, and reliability of internal combustion engines. This presentation will provide information on the current classification of both gasoline and diesel engine oils and how OEM’s and the oil industry collaborate on developing oil specifications, including the next generation API diesel engine oil category PC-12.
SPEAKER BIOGRAPHY:
Cory Koglin has worked for Afton Chemical for 22 years in R&D and OEM business roles. He worked in Richmond, VA for 10 years in the Mechanical testing laboratory prior to joining the Afton’s North American OEM team based in Southfield, MI. His current role is OEM Relationship Manager for diesel and gasoline engines. Before starting at Afton, Cory worked for John Deere and AVL , and received a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering. Cory currently resides in South Lyon, MI with his wife Michelle and 3 daughters Theresa, Mallory, and Greta.
